“Oh, faithless generation…” Those were the words of Jesus. A lamentation.
At another time, He asked, “When the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?”
For Jesus to make such weighty statements, it shows just how important faith is. Faith is not optional, it is the very atmosphere of a believer’s life. That’s why Scripture says, “The just shall live by faith,” and, “We walk by faith and not by sight.”
If we are not living by faith, then in truth, we are not living at all.
So What Is Faith?
Faith is total confidence in God’s supernatural realm. It is trust and belief in God and His Word.Faith sees God’s promises as already DONE. No doubts. No plan B.It's a state of mind. You don't see the possibility of God not performing what He has said. In your mind, it is already counted and settled as DONE. That's faith.
Why Faith Matters
What impossibilities do you see in the realm of physical sight? The physical world often screams impossibility. But the spiritual is stronger, weightier, and more eternal than anything your eyes can see. That means your current difficulty is not the truest reality because it cannot last. This is why you should believe God. Faith allows you to live above the visible and anchor yourself in the eternal.
How do you build up faith?
Because faith actually needs to be built up. 1. Watch what you hear.Faith comes by hearing, and faith also goes by hearing. The wrong words, the wrong voices, the wrong influences can drain your faith.2. Stay in prayer. You cannot be low in prayer and expect to be high in faith. Jude gives the key: “Build up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost.”
Jesus is looking for faith on the earth. Will He find it in you?Let’s make it our personal challenge, that when He comes, He will find us walking, breathing, and living by faith.
